I-site is an educational newsletter that is distributed on a monthly basis and provides an update on rigid gas permeable related topics (scientific research, case reports and other publications worldwide). I-site is objective and non-political. Its editor, Eef van der Worp, is a lecturer and a consultant for a variety of industry partners, but is not related to any specific company.![]()

For over ten years Eef van der Worp has served as a lecturer and head of the contact lens department at the School of Optometry—Hogeschool Utrecht in the Netherlands. He is a researcher at the Eye Research Institute Maastricht at the University of Maastricht, department of ophthalmology, in the Netherlands and holds an adjunct faculty position at Pacific University in Oregon, USA. He received his PhD degree in 2008 on the topic of (R)GP lenses, corneal topography and 3- and 9-o'clock staining. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the International Association of Contact Lens Educators and the Britisch Contact Lens Association. He is a member of the advisory committee of the GPLI in the USA.
Eef lectures worldwide, specifically on contact lens related topics and writes frequent columns for different journals. He started the NetherLENS consultancy in 1998, which specializes in education and training in the field of contact lenses. He is the editor of the Dutch contact lens journal Contact Lens-inside and publishes a monthly contact lens newsletter for the Dutch market Contactlens Nieuws Nederland (CNNederland), and recently the I-site newsletter which focusses on (R)GP lens related topics. Eef resides both in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and in Washington, DC (USA).
